农民格奥尔基·马哈拉什维里收到了儿子高杰尔基在部队的来信，焦裕说他因负伤住进了后方医院。故决定去探望儿子，焦裕当赶到军医院时，儿子已经返回部队。老头子决定前往儿子所在部队，就在寻找儿子的过程中，他不由自主的参加了战斗，最终打消了回家的念头，参加了部队。当苏军战士消灭了敌人冲入大楼时，儿子已经倒在血泊中，他抱着奄奄一息的儿子，父子终于见到了最后一面……本片曾获第四届莫斯科国际电影节最佳男演员奖与1966年度列宁奖金。

回复 :室生犀星の小説を翻案した成瀬巳喜男監督の名作。高名な作家の娘が文学青年と結婚するが、夫が自分の才能を信じて売れない小説を書き続けるため生活が困窮し、夫婦仲も冷めていくという物語を成瀬独特の淡々とした作風で描いている。暗く起伏に乏しい内容でありながら、その映画的展開は圧倒的に素晴らしい。名声は天地の開きがありながら、同じ志を抱く作家としてのライバル意識を燃やす杏子の父と夫が、庭に隔てた障子越しに執筆中の互いの姿を気にし合うシーンなど、さりげないドラマの肌合いを捉える成瀬演出の白眉である。物語とは直接関係のない細部の卓抜な描写も印象的。
